Sul Sul! This is Roxanna Llama-Llama reporting to you LIVE from Sulani! After viewing the outtakes of yesterday’s Toddler Mania competition, I can certainly appreciate what a marvelous caregiver Mary Poppins truly is. I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, had no idea that those sweet, adorable toddlers could be such a handful and that being a caregiver could be so…uh…demanding. But the good news is that the toddlers and contestants all survived and that Brianna Hammond proved that she was the best caregiver in the challenge. Congratulations Brianna!

And so today, Rick and Brianna will head off on a Solo Date, which marks their third solo date together. With this milestone, does Rick have something special in mind? Let’s find out and head over to the Bachelor House and peek in on Rick and Brianna.

“I was pretty excited winning that challenge yesterday, although it was close with Raven, as we tied. But I think the thing that upped my points for the win was my cooking skill. I know how all those toddlers loved my grilled cheese sandwiches. So, when Rick spoke to me last night about plans for our date, he told me it would be my choice. And the first thing that popped into my head was food, okay well maybe not the first thing…but yes, I have been wanting to grill a tuna steak for Rick since I got here, and I thought this would be my chance. Hey, a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and I am hoping to make an even greater impression on Rick with my cooking skills. When I told Rick I wanted to grill some dinner for him, he looked at me strangely and then winked at me and said ‘I have a place in mind.’ So, I still don’t know where we’re actually going, but it just warms my heart that he gave me a choice of what to do on this date.”

Rick stood by two bicycles as he waited for Brianna to emerge from the house. When he saw her come down the stairs and walk towards him, he couldn’t help but smile thinking how beautiful she looked. He was really looking forward to spending the day with her.

“Bicycles?” laughed Brianna.

For a moment Rick looked concerned, thinking that maybe Brianna didn’t know how to ride a bike. “You can ride a bike, right?” asked Rick.

“Of course! I used to ride my bike all the time when I was young. From the moment I got up until I had to come home. I rode that bike everywhere,” replied Brianna.

“Yeah, I was pretty much the same. Except my bike looked a bit different than these bikes do,” laughed Rick.

“Let me guess. Your bike had a banana seat and those high handlebars…” Brianna smirked.

“How’d you know?” laughed Rick, “And I bet yours was pink with streamers on the handles…” Rick said raising an eyebrow.

“Well, actually, it was a used blue coaster bike, that my Dad got from a friend. So, no, it wasn’t pink. But my Dad did spruce it up with one of those horn bells. You know the ones that have a rubber squeeze bulb attached to the horn. It was loud. You could certainly hear me coming!” laughed Brianna reminiscing a bit, “My Dad was very much into safety.”

“Well, it’s good we have these now,” replied Rick, handing her a bike helmet.

“Thanks. So, we’re riding to a…park…?” Brianna asked, trying to guess where they were going, slinging her backpack over her shoulder.

 

“This is actually the first leg of our journey. I heard you had quite the shopping list for that dinner you’re going to fix, so I thought we’d stop at a market to get supplies first,” Rick said.

“Oh, I gave that list to Afu. I wasn’t sure how he was going to get all the ingredients in time,” answered Brianna.

“No worries. Afu spoke to me about it, and I told him we would get them on our way. Makes it a bit more fun and you’ll love this market. Plus, it’s very close to where we have to go next,” replied Rick as he put his helmet on his head.

“That sounds great, Rick!” replied Brianna as they pushed off and biked up the path.

They arrived at the market and placed their bikes in the bike rack. Rick told Brianna he would be right back, as he had to talk to the proprietor about some items he had reserved.

Brianna had never been to this market before. All the smells and the bustle of the place, was wonderful. She spied a hand shopping basket, and picked it up wandering the different stalls. By the time Rick returned, carrying a bag, she was almost done.

“Well, that was quick…” exclaimed Rick, “I was rather hoping that I could follow you around and see what you were buying.”

“Well, you’ll find out soon enough!” flirted Brianna, as they headed to the cash and Rick paid for the groceries.

“I’m glad those bikes have baskets to place the groceries in,” said Brianna looking around trying to find the bikes.

“Oh, we won’t be using those anymore. No, we’re going to head across the street and use the outrigger canoes to get to our next location,” smiled Rick.

“And where might that be?” enquired Brianna looking intently at Rick.

“Well, I was wondering…I was hoping…um…well…that you’d like to come back to my place,” Rick said hesitantly. When Rick had thought about taking Brianna to his little spit of land, it had seemed like a good idea, but thinking about it now, perhaps a park would be better.

“To your place? Like back to the Bachelor House?” Brianna said almost sadly. She had really hoped that they would be going somewhere alone together.

“Oh no…not there…back to MY place…my island home…it’s not much…and it’s pretty rustic…but it’s…it’s really beautiful and peaceful there…” Rick said, wondering what Brianna would say.

“You want me to come back to your place? To see where you live?” asked Brianna astonished that he would ask her there.

“Yes,” replied Rick simply, “But if you’d prefer to head to a park, I know a nice one nearby…”

“Rick, I would love to go to your place. It sounds wonderful and just the kind of location I was thinking about,” enthused Brianna.

“Alright then!” said Rick, carrying the grocery bags and heading towards the dock with Brianna.

“Wow! I can’t believe I am going to see where Rick actually lives! I feel like this is a big step. I kind of feel like it is, but then, maybe I am making more out of this than it really is,” thought Brianna.

They landed the outrigger canoes on the sandy shore, and Rick helped Brianna out of the boat. He waved an arm around and said, “Welcome to my humble abode. I guess you could call this the front door…”

Brianna looked around in awe, “Rick, this is amazing. This is the most incredible view I have ever seen!”

“And I might add, that the back door view is just as nice,” Rick smiled as he took Brianna’s hand in his and they walked down the path together.

When they came to the clearing, Rick told Brianna to close her eyes, “I warn you, it’s not much, but it’s home. Okay, you can open your eyes now…”

Brianna slowly opened her eyes, not sure what to expect. When she got her bearings, she looked around. There was some type of shelter on the site, but it didn’t look very large. She also spied a roof in amongst the palms. Everything else seemed to be out in the open, but it was very neat and tidy.

“I bought some ice, so let me put those groceries in the cooler and then I can give you a quick tour,” said Rick as he unpacked the ice and placed items in the cooler. He then unpacked the other items and placed them in a small wooden box nearby.

“Before we begin, I do need to do something to properly welcome you to my home,” said Rick as he took Brianna’s hands in his and kissed them lightly.

“Oh, so is this what you do with all the other sims who you invite here?” asked Brianna blushing.

“Actually, Brianna, you’re the first sim I have ever invited here. Don’t get me wrong, Manu and his wife, Noelani, have certainly come over to visit, more like just dropped in from time to time, but, no, I have never actually invited anyone over. I guess that sounds kind of strange, but the place doesn’t really appeal to everyone. It’s off the grid, and my kitchen consists of my grill, a fire pit and a cooler. There is no electricity here, but I do have running water. But, come on…I’ll show you…” said Rick as he led the way around the site pointing things out as they walked.

“…and finally, this is my very small garden…” said Rick, pointing to the garden planter filled with vegetables, “it’s nice to have some fresh fruit and vegetables on hand,” he added.

“I couldn’t agree more! My mother has this huge garden in our backyard. She can’t wait until the snow melts to plant some crops. Inside, on the windowsill, she has herb pots. She always told me that fresh ingredients are the best, and it’s so true. I always try to cook with fresh ingredients when I can,” smiled Brianna.

“And that concludes the tour. And now, how about a drink?” asked Rick glancing at Brianna.

“Oh, that sounds nice,” Brianna brightened as Rick led the way to the bar area.

“If you like, we could venture out into the deep water for some deep sea diving. I have a spare rebreather you can use. Or, we could just stay around here and swim. Entirely your choice,” said Rick as he mixed up a citrus swig.

“My choice again, huh?” smiled Brianna, “Well, it’s a good thing I brought along my bathing suit, just in case, so, yes, I’d love to do some deep sea diving.”

Rick lifted his glass and made a toast, “Cheers! To continuing a great day together!”

The rest of the afternoon was spent diving in the deep water. They went down a few times using the rebreather, and then when they came up, Rick spotted Dolphina.

“Brianna,” Rick said as he swam towards her, “You’re in luck! You get to meet Dolphina!”

“Oh Dolphina, I’ve missed you girl,” Rick said affectionately to the dolphin, as Dolphina splashed Rick.

Rick continued, “Yes, yes, I brought someone along for you to meet. Her name is Brianna.”

“Wow, Brianna, I do believe she has taken a liking to you,” said Rick.

“I think Dolphina knows that I only have your best interests at heart,” replied Brianna, giving Dolphina a pet and whispering to her, “Dolphina, you are a very brave dolphin. Thank you for rescuing Rick,” finished Brianna.

And with that, the dolphin dove underwater and appeared again before Rick.

“I don’t think you have anything to worry about, Rick. Dolphina is truly devoted to you,” Brianna said, watching the dolphin.

“She really adores you, Rick,” said Brianna.

“…and I can understand why”, thought Brianna.

“Only because I give her fish snacks…” laughed Rick, as he tossed one into the air. Dolphina jumped for the snack, then came over to Rick and nuzzled his face, and just as quickly, dove underwater, leaving Rick and Brianna alone again.

“I’m so glad I got a chance to meet her. Dolphina is wonderful,” said Brianna.

“Yes, yes she is,” gushed Rick.

“I think she may be your dolphin girlfriend,” sighed Brianna, “I could have sworn she gave you a kiss good-bye”.

Rick laughed and swam closer to Brianna, “Oh, now, don’t you be getting jealous of Dolphina, because, afterall…she is a dolphin…”

“…and I much prefer…”

“…kissing you…” Rick whispered.

The sun was setting and it was time to head back. From the look of it, I believe that Rick and Brianna enjoyed their time in the water. Don’t you agree?

When they arrived back on shore, Brianna said that she was going to start dinner. Rick cleaned the grill for Brianna before he headed for a shower and to change. When he came out, he smelled the wonderful aroma first. And when he rounded the corner, he couldn’t believe what he saw.

“Am I in the right spot?” Rick asked astounded, “My place never looked so good!”

“Oh, I hope you don’t mind…I found some items in your storage box…and I had actually bought some candles at the market,” Brianna finished.

“It looks amazing. Anytime you want to redecorate, be my guest…” Rick laughed, “and I have to add, that you look pretty amazing, too. Where did you change?”

“Oh, I changed in your hut. It’s pretty small in there, but I managed…” Brianna laughed.

“Yes, it’s pretty tight, but for one, it’s fine,” Rick agreed, heading over to the bar area, “While you were busy shopping at the market, I headed over to the wine merchant and picked up a bottle of wine for dinner. It’s an island wine, a pineapple sparkling wine.  I hope that’s a good choice.”

Brianna glanced at the bottle, “Oh, that’s perfect!” Brianna said as they made a toast together.

“Everything is ready…shall we begin?” said Brianna inviting Rick to help himself.

“I have been anticipating this dinner since you told me you wanted to make me dinner last night,” confessed Rick.

“Really? I’m flattered,” beamed Brianna, “So, is the tuna as good as your garlic herbed lemon version?” Brianna smirked.

“Oh, you remembered…the secret family recipe…” laughed Rick, “Brianna, this is so much better…and that tropical salsa with it…it’s so, so, good…!” Rick said as he took another forkful.

“Thank you, Rick. I had actually thought of making “Tuna Wellington”, with puff pastry, but glad I kept it simple with grilling, as there is no stove here,” replied Brianna.

“You’re right, there isn’t. You know, I have to admit that after our date at Pirate Pete’s Pastries, I did some sketches of a beach house. This place can be difficult, even for one, especially when the tropical monsoons come. Manu has been telling me for years, that I needed to have a more solid house. I just never saw a reason for it…until recently,” said Rick.

“You did some sketches of a beach house? Oh, I’d love to see them…” enthused Brianna.

“You would? Well, let me get them and I can show them to you over some coffee and dessert. They sold out of banana cake at the market, so I picked up some coconut cake instead. You know, I’ve actually been having some problems with the kitchen, so maybe you can look it over and give me your ideas…” said Rick as he cleared the plates.

Settling down with the blueprints, hot coffee and coconut cake, Rick and Brianna discussed the house sketches, with Brianna giving her input into the kitchen and laughing at some of Rick’s crazy ideas like having a hole in the kitchen floor to catch fish…“…catch the fish and fry it up in a pan right then and there…makes it easy…” Rick laughed, “…and you don’t get wet when it’s raining…”

Brianna pointed out that if Rick was thinking of a family that the hole in the floor idea wouldn’t work too well with toddlers running around.

“You’re right…I wouldn’t want them to fall through the floor or anything…maybe not such a good idea after all…” agreed Rick making some changes on the blueprint.

With the last drop of coffee drunk and the last morsel of coconut cake eaten, Brianna shivered slightly and Rick noticed. “Oh, you’re cold…let me light a fire to warm you up…” said Rick, heading over to the firepit. Egads, Rick! Light the fire, not your arm. Thankfully, Rick got that under control, and just applied some salve to the burn. Pretty soon, Rick had a blazing fire going.

With Brianna sitting next to him by the fire, Rick said, “Brianna, you know, that was ALMOST a perfect dinner…”

“ALMOST?” Brianna said, raising an eyebrow in Rick’s direction.

“Yes, one thing was definitely missing…” Rick flirted.

“Oh really? And what was that?” Brianna said, flirting along.

“Well, you should be wearing an apron that says ‘Kiss the Cook’,” said Rick.

“Oh, is that all? Well, I actually don’t have one…” Brianna answered looking into Rick’s eyes.

“Well, I’ll have to get you one, so I can…um…kiss the cook…” said Rick as be placed his arm around Brianna.

“But you know, you don’t really need a reason to …um…kiss the cook…” Brianna answered, knowing what was coming next.

“You’re right, I don’t…” answered Rick, enveloping Brianna in his arms and kissing her. It was a slow, languid kiss, almost like they didn’t want the moment to end, almost like they didn’t want the evening to end.

Brianna felt Rick pull her closer and his kiss suddenly became more passionate. She felt the heat of his kiss and it burned a desire in her. She wanted more. She didn’t care if they never went back to the Bachelor House. Brianna just wanted to stay there with Rick, to never let this end. Rick pulled away suddenly, and murmured, “We…we should go…”

Brianna’s face was flushed, and she took a moment to catch her breath and smooth her hair. “Yes…yes…you’re right…,” Brianna answered, “I just…I just need to clean up those dishes…” Brianna said as she stood up suddenly and felt lightheaded. Rick caught her as she swayed.

“Probably just from the wine…” Brianna said looking up at Rick.

“Of course, the wine…” Rick answered. They stood there looking into each other’s eyes, and Rick caressed Brianna’s cheek with his hand.

“The wine was good…” Rick said, placing his arm around Brianna’s waist, “…but not as good as kissing the cook…” Rick whispered, as he brought his lips down to Brianna’s once more to share another kiss.

Brianna’s Date Thoughts:

This was Rick and my third Solo Date, and I really felt that this date was the best so far. Biking together, shopping at the market, and then Rick inviting me to “his” place. I felt like that was somehow a milestone in our relationship, and the fact that I was the first to be invited to his island tells me he wants me to know even more about him. And I met Dolphina! It was truly magical to see Rick and Dolphina together…and afterwards, in the water…that kiss…amazing…so romantic. And I got to finally make Rick that grilled tuna dinner! But you know, if I had burned dinner, he would have still eaten it, and made it a happy memory. That’s the kind of guy Rick is. He always makes me feel special. And the more I get to know Rick, the more I want to be with him. Oh yes…I so want to be with him. And the way he kissed me at the end of the night…wow…that kiss took my breath away. It was so hard for me not to just blurt out my feelings to him. I don’t know when it happened, or how it happened so fast, but I have fallen in love with Rick. There is no doubt in my mind that I am truly, madly, deeply* in love with Rick. But now, I feel so teary-eyed thinking of Rick, because…because if he chooses someone else, I know my heart will be broken. I can only hope that he will choose me.

Relationship Status Remains Unchanged as Lovers.

Stalker Alert!

Raven is at it again! When Rick and Brianna were at the beach area, I glanced around, and saw Raven just standing there watching them. Had she followed them from the Bachelor House? The peculiar thing was that she was in an outfit that isn’t in her outfit choices, but somehow was randomly assigned by the game. Maybe Raven has a clone?

And here’s that townie who also crashed Rick and Iris’ date. He looks mad, or maybe it’s just his scuba mask. Rick and Brianna weren’t going to stick around to find out, and wisely left after this.

Sul Sul! This is Roxanna Llama-Llama reporting to you LIVE from Sulani! After their recovery…er…rest from the Kava Party, the contestants are now refreshed and ready to embark on a new day. And what luck! Today, we have a wonderful challenge for them to compete in for a Solo Date with Rick. The Sulani Daycare Center is in need of some volunteers to help out while their daycare worker, Mary Poppins, attends a Daycare Conference. And the producers decided that this would be a fun opportunity for the contestants to participate in! A chance to show off some parenting skills and get in the good books with Rick, since we all know that Rick does want to start a family eventually.

Believe me, I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, have been to this daycare, and it is such a wonderful place to visit. Mary has every day organized, and the toddlers are so well behaved. Story time, play time, lunch time, nap time and outdoor time. Mary, of course, is “practically perfect in every way,”* so the Sulani Daycare Center is just a reflection of her perfect self.

Here is a photo of the Sulani Daycare Center. There is even a fenced outdoor area with a small kiddie pool.

In the afternoon, Mary always has time for a “spot of tea” as she calls it, while the toddlers are down for their nap. Mary, of course, will leave notes for the volunteers on the different “quirks” of each toddler. So, you can rest assured that volunteering at the Sulani Daycare Centre will be an absolute breeze!

• Ophelia Dillon (Fussy: Ophelia is a wee bit of a mischief-maker, who needs lots of loving care. She loves to do everything & often asks for help.)
• Niklaus Chuu (Angelic: Niklaus is easy-going and never has tantrums. He’s just…well…an angel. He is very happy keeping himself busy, but does love story time.)
• Cleo Reeves (Silly: Cleo is goofy & playful & has quite an imagination. She loves to play dolls & have wonderful chats with the stuffed animals.)

• Nathan Mahina (Clingy: Nathan is shy around other adult sims & sometimes needs comforting. He loves story time and playing with toys.)
• Ryder Xang (Inquisitive: Ryder is a curious explorer & loves learning new things. He is very content with stacking blocks & playing games on the tablet.)
• Beatrice Hammond (Wild: Beatrice is spirited, full of energy & loves to play outside. Her favorite thing to do is bob to music).

Hmmm…those last names sound awfully familiar…must just be a coincidence, right?

Rick likes to volunteer at the Sulani Daycare Centre. Just look at how all the toddlers are enthralled by his storytelling. Rick is such a great caregiver, and now the question is, which of the contestants is a great caregiver, too? Good luck, ladies! (See rules at bottom in Author’s Notes)

Play Time , Story Time & Learning Time:

Here are some highlights of the contestants enjoying their time with the toddlers.

The Not-So Happy Shots of the Toddlers:

Ophelia Dillon smashed both dollhouses! She was angry and then all the toddlers got sad because the dollhouses were broken (on Brianna’s shift).

Beatrice Hammond decided to take off her clothes…

…to splash in the toilet…

…and to smash the dollhouse! (all on Nami’s shift). This was the only time Beatrice did these things. She was a very naughty toddler on Nami’s shift.

The three little mess makers, Cleo Reeves, Ryder Xang and Beatrice Hammond (on Naomi’s shift).

The three little mess makers have become the three little tantrum makers. Cleo Reeves, Ryder Xang, and Beatrice Hammond all had tantrums at the same time! (on Octavia’s shift). Octavia was the only contestant who didn’t autonomously cook. So, the toddlers had angry moodlets from being “hangry” and “ravenous” and “tired”. Actually, all of the toddlers had tantrums on all the contestants’ shifts. Well, all toddlers except Niklaus.

Ah yes, Niklaus Chuu, the angelic toddler. Right! Here is the angelic toddler making a mess (on Raven’s shift).

Poor little Nathan Mahina cries and wants out of that high chair (on Coral’s shift).

Unique Autonomous Actions By Contestants:

Nami Chuu gave Ophelia Dillon an autonomous hug. Or maybe Ophelia gave Nami a hug, because Nami had a rather eventful shift.

Octavia Dillon autonomously gave Cleo Reeves a bath. The only toddler who had a bath in all the shifts. Cleo must have been a rather stinky toddler to get one!

Brianna Hammond autonomously repairs one of the dollhouses that Ophelia Dillon smashed. Thank goodness because all the toddlers were sad. You can see the other smashed dollhouse outside.

Naomi Mahina autonomously reads a parenting book.

Coral Reeves autonomously cleaned up the dishes.

Raven Xang autonomously put four toddlers to bed! That was pretty amazing! No wonder Raven is smiling. The only contestant to do this!

Fun With Food:

Cleo Reeves loves the peanut butter and jelly sandwich (on Nami’s shift).

Niklaus Chuu doesn’t much care for this drink (on Naomi’s shift).

Naomi Mahina autonomously prepares mac and cheese later on.

Ophelia Dillon seems to enjoy her drink; however, Octavia Dillon has the stressed moodlet “From dealing with a fussy toddler”. (Psst, Octavia…this is YOUR cloned daughter!)

I think this may have been Octavia’s way of dealing with Ophelia and Ophelia’s constant demands. Yep, just left Ophelia in the highchair, where Ophelia fell asleep. (Although Ophelia was always demanding, she seemed to be the most demanding during Octavia’s shift.)

Brianna Hammond autonomously cooks grilled cheese.

Ophelia Dillon, Nathan Mahina, and Beatrice Hammond all agree that this is the best grilled cheese ever! The grilled cheese was excellent quality, which was the only prepared food that was. (on Brianna’s shift)

Raven Xang autonomously makes salad later on.

Ryder Xang doesn’t think much of this peanut butter and jelly sandwich (on Coral’s shift).

Coral Reeves does redeem herself later on and autonomously fixes fruit salad. Although here, Coral is having a great conversation with the wall.

The Disaster:

Nami Chuu autonomously makes grilled cheese, only to set the kitchen on fire.

Father Winter shows up and puts the fire out, or so I thought. Look at poor Ophelia Dillon trapped in the high chair, and Niklaus Chuu crying in the kitchen.

Nami Chuu gets Cleo Reeves from the bedroom and runs with her to safety.

Katrina Caliente then shows up and sets herself on fire as another fire starts. Ophelia Dillon is still trapped in that high chair, and now Nathan Mahina and Ryder Xang have come into the kitchen crying.

Nami also rescues Beatrice Hammond on her way out the door.

Nami has now rescued four toddlers.

Father Winter extinguishes Katrina. Umm…Nami…Ophelia Dillon and Nathan Mahina are still in the house!

When the fire is over, Nami does come back to rescue Ophelia. Oh gosh! The kitchen is charred. All the toddlers have sad, very sad, angry or very angry moodlets. They do, however, all get the “Neighbors Saved Me” happy moodlet.

Father Winter walks into the daycare, mops up some paint on the floor, and heads over to the broken dollhouse and stares at it (Beatrice smashed the dollhouse). He then surveys the daycare and leaves. Wise choice there, Father Winter! The daycare is a bit of a disaster, and he’s probably thinking that he’ll be glad when Mary Poppins comes back from her conference.

Nami Chuu is done with cooking, so autonomously makes popcorn for dinner.

The smell of the popcorn even lured some swamp creatures inside. Here is little Cleo Reeves with a green fog following her, making her way back into the daycare.

Katrina Caliente, who was still at the daycare, grabs a bowl, and eats some popcorn after her near death experience. Katrina then heads home.

Thankfully, the fire happened near the end of Nami’s shift. Yes, I know, she waited until almost 10pm to make dinner. Nami is looking rather exhausted from her day volunteering at the daycare, and midnight couldn’t come fast enough. Nami’s shift is (thankfully) over just as Ophelia Dillon decides to throw a tantrum.

Summary of each Contestants’ Day:

Well, that was some challenge! None of the toddlers were taken away by Social Services, and the contestants and toddlers all survived to tell the tale. Not one contestant autonomously changed a diaper; but some did autonomously Check Toddler.

• Of all the contestants, I think that Nami had the most eventful shift with the fire. Beatrice ran around nekid and also smashed a dollhouse. The toddlers had all those negative moodlets towards the end.
• The most stressful shift was Octavia’s, as Ophelia seemed to be the most demanding on that shift. I do think that the most toddler tantrums happened on Octavia’s shift, too. Octavia was the only contestant who did not autonomously cook.
• Naomi got a bit angry and got the “Fussy Frustration” moodlet when dealing with Ophelia. I think that the most “messes” happened on Naomi’s shift, and there were a lot of sad and angry toddlers at the end of the night.
• Coral never got stressed by the toddlers, and had her share of messes and tantrums. There was one incident when Ophelia was having a tantrum in the high chair, and Coral just nonchalantly walked away to play dolls. I thought that was funny. By the end of the night the toddlers had passed out on chairs or the floor.
• Brianna had her share of problems, especially with Ophelia smashing both dollhouses, but her great cooking skill seemed to lift the moods of the toddlers.
• Raven’s shift started with Ophelia having a tantrum within minutes of arrival. Raven had the normal messes and tantrums, but no smashed dollhouses. Raven was the only contestant who actually put toddlers to bed. Maybe that was Raven’s secret coping skill. Put them to bed and they can’t make a mess, destroy anything, cry, demand stuff, have a tantrum or be stinky.

And the winner is…

And so, with the score tallied, it was very, very close. The final scores were Nami Chuu-31; Octavia Dillon-35; Brianna Hammond-37; Naomi Mahina-34; Coral Reeves-34; Raven Xang-37. Yes, there was a tie! I actually had to go back and look at Raven and Brianna’s parenting skills for partial completion percentages. Therefore, Brianna’s new total is 37.46% and Raven’s is 37.42%. So very close! Congratulations to Brianna Hammond for winning the challenge!

Author’s Notes-Challenge Rules:

1. This challenge is loosely based on the Seven Toddler Challenge. A separate save file was created with the current contestants. The toddlers were genetically created in Create-A-Sim with each contestant and Rick. 😉 The toddlers’ traits are based on each contestants’ traits. To get the parenting skill, each contestant clicked on the toddler and under Toddler Care chose “adopt as care dependent” for all the toddlers. When a new contestant started, it was a clean slate all over again, using a separate save file.
2. Each contestant will spend  8am-midnight at the Sulani Daycare Center. The contestants aren’t controlled, but rather, the toddlers’ whims control what happens. So, if a toddler has a whim to go potty, they would click on the potty “Help With” and the contestant would help them with that.
3. The contestants have many opportunities to do some autonomous actions, like maybe change all those stinky diapers. Phew!
4. The bookshelf is stocked with toddler books and Parenting Books 1, 2 & 3, in case the contestant wants to read something autonomously. There are no tvs or computers in the house; however, there is a stereo.
5. If a toddler is taken away by Social Services or the contestant passes out before the day is done, the contestant has failed the challenge.
6. At the end of the day, the number of parenting skill points and toddler skill points will be added up. The contestant with the highest points wins the Solo Date with Rick.

Thanks to these simmers for their lovely builds. The Daycare was used for screenshots with Mary Poppins and the toddlers, but then I decided it was too big. I used the 7 Toddler Challenge room build, and combined it with a Maxis built “Lazy Lounger’s Deck” (Island Living pack), outdoor room. I also added a stereo and some toddler chairs. And, of course, a perfectly run daycare would not be complete without Mary Poppins.

Sul Sul! This is Roxanna Llama-Llama reporting to you LIVE from Sulani! Well, that Kava Party last night was certainly a wild one! And Rick rather surprised us all by getting a bit “dazed” by drinking too much kava. I mean, really, you can drink kava and have a good time, but don’t overdo it. The producers were not too happy with some of the outtakes of the show and what could have possibly happened last night. They have asked moi to politely remind Rick and the contestants to drink in moderation. And from Afu’s phone call this morning about Rick’s condition, I am sure that Rick probably won’t be drinking any more kava anytime soon.

Benny came into the house just then, bringing Roxanna the mail.

“There’s a letter there for you from Sunset Valley. It looks official,” said Benny handing Roxanna a letter.

“Oh my! This is what I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, have been waiting for! Rick’s birth record!” Roxanna said as she carefully opened the envelope and read the contents.

“Just as I thought,” Roxanna said with a sigh, “The only name listed on here is the mother’s name, not the father’s name. Morgana Wolff is the mother, or quite possibly, Rick’s adopted mother. This kind of proves my theory that Rick was indeed adopted. But I think there’s more to this…”

Roxanna took out her cell and quickly punched in a number, “Sul Sul Nick! It’s me Roxanna Llama-Llama….yes, for sure, it’s been too long…Holly? A successful gallery opening? Good for her…Oh, it was nothing really…just pointed a few of her paintings out to a friend…of course…so much excitement….oh you have?…yes, it is so fabulous here in Sulani…you and Vita should come on vacation…exactly…and the reason for the call…do you still have contacts down at the courthouse in Sunset Valley?…you do? …a teensy tiny favor…about some adoption records…yes, the Bachelor…man of mystery…you do?…a private investigator…reliable and discrete…a few weeks…of course…marvelous…you’re the best!…pop in for a visit?…certainly…right after the show…Dag Dag!”

Roxanna smiled. She had just put the ball in motion to find out who Rick really was, and possibly reveal something that Rick didn’t know himself.

While Rick read Octavia’s diary in the bedroom, Raven was finishing breakfast in the kitchen…

“Miss Raven, I hope that coffee is to your liking…” said Afu, as he prepared a breakfast dish on the stove.

“Oh Afu, thank you so much. Did anyone ever tell you that you are the best butler ever?” replied Raven.

“Well, Miss Raven, thank you. I do strive to do my best,” said Afu.

“Well, you are the best, and I appreciate everything you do. I’ve never had anyone look after me like this,” said Raven as she took another sip of coffee.

Raven heard a ping and glanced at her cell, “Oh good, the book I ordered will be arriving today. It’s called ‘The Plunder Games’. I’ll add it to the house library when I’m done, if you’re interested in reading it.”

“Sounds wonderful, Miss Raven. You always make excellent choices. And I thought I would let you know that I did peruse the book you recommended the other day. It was quite eye-opening. So much in fact, that I thought I would leave it for Master Rick to skim through…” said Afu.

“The… the book? What book?” asked Raven wondering what Afu was talking about.

“Oh, the book you were telling Miss Coral about the other day. I took it upon myself to check it out,” Afu replied.

“Oh THAT book!,” exclaimed Raven, realizing that Afu meant Octavia’s diary.

“Really? So…um…do you think that Rick will find the book eye-opening as well?” queried Raven.

“I have no doubt, Miss Raven. Now, why don’t you hurry along and get ready and enjoy this lovely day?” encouraged Afu.

“Oh, Afu…did anyone ever tell you that you are the best butler ever?” Raven smiled mischievously at Afu.

“Only you, Miss Raven. Only you,” Afu replied and turned to busy himself dusting the kitchen counter.

Rick knocked on the door to Raven and Octavia’s bedroom. A muffled “Come in” was heard, and Rick entered the room.

Raven had just rounded the corner when she saw Rick enter Octavia’s and her room. She decided to stand silently outside the door and discretely listen in. Okay, she was eavesdropping.

“Oh, this should be good! I can almost hear Octavia packing her bags now and being evicted from the Bachelor House!” Raven thought. But what she heard instead had her head spinning.

“I believe this belongs to you,” Rick said extending the diary towards Octavia.

“Oh my gosh, Rick! Where did you find it? I’ve been searching this room all morning,” Octavia replied as she took the diary from Rick.

“Well, it was on my bedside table. I thought perhaps you had placed it there,” Rick said looking quizzically at Octavia.

“No, I didn’t put it there. But I’m so glad you found it, I thought it was lost! Ummm…did you read it?” asked Octavia.

“Well, parts of it. It was…quite the steamy read!” Rick laughed a bit embarrassed, “But do you really think that your character, Olivia, could pull it off? I mean, what if Randy came to his senses and figured out what she was up to? Or even worse, passed out from all that kava?”

“Yah, that is what my editor was saying…there were too many loop holes in the story. Plus, she didn’t like my nice guy, Randy. She wants me to change Randy’s character and make him non-committal….more of a conflict with Olivia…and possible consequences of their…um…”bush” hanky-panky. Oh well. I was really hoping that this would be my big break as a writer. But I don’t know if I’m cut out to be a romance writer. Too much criticism,” said Octavia shaking her head.

Octavia flipped to the page with the post-it sticky on it. “You know, re-reading some of this now, it sounds like I was trying to do this to you last night. I hope you don’t think I was trying to take advantage of you in that way, because I would never do something like that.”

“Octavia, I would never think that of you. And to be honest, I don’t remember much of last night,” replied Rick.

“You don’t? Do you remember that we took a stroll along the beach together?” Octavia asked hopefully, thinking of how Rick had pulled her to him.

“I’m sure it was nice, but I’m so sorry, I don’t remember. I do hope, though, that I was a gentleman towards you,” Rick answered giving Octavia an inquisitive look.

“Yes, you were…you certainly were…” answered Octavia, wishing that he hadn’t been because she had been really hoping for a First Kiss.

“Well, anytime you need a hand again going over some of your ideas and reading some of your drafts, we can always chat over coffee in the morning,” offered Rick.

“Well, thanks, Rick, I do appreciate all the help you’ve been giving me, but I think I’ll stick with children’s books. At least the last one I wrote got published and sold some copies,” answered Octavia with a sigh.

“You do have potential, Octavia, just keep at it,” said Rick giving her a smile.

“Thanks, Rick,” replied Octavia.

Rick bid her farewell and walked towards the door.

Raven heard Rick walking towards the door and quietly sprinted to one of the chess tables in the hall. She quickly sat down and feigned playing chess. No-one saw her and she relaxed a bit staring at the chess board.

“All this time, Octavia had been writing a book and Rick was reading her drafts? No wonder they were together all the time, Octavia was probably running ideas by him and getting his opinion on things. Maybe getting the man’s point of view. But from the tidbits that I read, it all sounded so real.. plying the guy with kava, taking him down to the beach to be alone, and then the “bush” scene. I’m sure, though, that Octavia had been trying to get a first kiss with Rick at the beach when I interrupted them. But it sounds like Rick doesn’t remember any of that. So, the whole thing that I had read were excepts from a potential romance novel, not Octavia’s plans to entrap Rick afterall. Unbelievable!” thought Raven.

“Well, there was only one thing to do now…look sad, and don the dark sunglasses and catch Coral’s eye for a confidential chat in the bathroom again. As soon as I tell Coral what I overhead, Coral will make sure the whole house knows. But I will still be keeping an eye on Octavia. Any sim who has thoughts like that for a book needs to be watched closely. Very closely.”

Rick returned to his room to find Afu looking at his door.

“Ah, Master Rick, I wanted to let you know that I have called a locksmith to repair this lock on your door. I noticed it appeared to be broken. Can’t have any of the contestants just sauntering into your room now, can we?” said Afu.

“Um…no, no we can’t. Thank you, Afu,” said Rick looking at the broken lock.

“And Master Rick, will you and Miss Octavia be having coffee together as usual this morning? I know she has a penchant for macchiato, and she so appreciates how I make it for her,” said Afu.

“No, Afu, I don’t believe Octavia and I will be meeting for morning coffee anymore.”

“Oh that’s a shame, Master Rick. Well, the day has just begun and the contestants are up and about…

…I saw Miss Coral head into the gym earlier…

…and Miss Brianna is out on the deck doing some yoga…

…I saw Miss Nami and Miss Naomi playing ping pong together, and Miss Raven was just having some breakfast. I haven’t seen Miss Octavia as yet. She must be having a late morning.”

“Yes, yes, she is,” answered Rick.

“Well, Master Rick, you should head round and greet all the lovely ladies. I am sure they would appreciate you spending time with them…” suggested Afu.

“Yes, you’re right Afu. I have kind of been neglecting some of the contestants. I guess I have been spending considerable time with Octavia discussing her book…”

“Oh, of course Master Rick, so admirable of you to help Miss Octavia with that,” answered Afu, “Why don’t I make a fresh pot of coffee and prepare those banana pancakes that you love so much, and then you can spend time with each of the ladies.”

“Afu, that’s a great idea. I’m just going to get washed up and I’ll meet you in the kitchen. Did anyone ever tell you that you are the best butler ever?” Rick said smiling at Afu.

“Only you, Master Rick. Only you,” Afu smiled and continued towards the kitchen answering his cell on the way.

“Sul Sul! Oh, yes, the matter has been taken care of. So true…part of the job is studying human nature. Oh yes, he did as I predicted and returned it. Most definitely…she overheard the whole conversation…oh, I am sure she will let the others know in her own way. Of course, it’s my duty as part of the Windenburg Butlering Academy to have a smooth running household. Right. Butler Harry…difficulties at the Ward residence? She wants him to do what? Unheard of! 4pm tee time? Most certainly, I would never miss a golf outing with the other butlers. And I agree…Butler Harry’s dilemma will be the focus today. Dag Dag,” Afu smiled to himself as he turned off the cell and went about preparing Rick’s breakfast knowing that all was right in the Bachelor House again.

Author’s Notes: Well, talk about an eye-opener! All along, Octavia was writing a steamy romance novel and having Rick read her drafts and getting his feedback! Who would have thought? So, Octavia is innocent after all. Well, innocent in that scenario anyway. And it looks like Afu was the one who placed Octavia’s diary on Rick’s bedside, knowing that Rick would return it to her and that Raven would be in the hallway to overhear the whole thing, and then set things right again. And Afu talking to Rick about a broken lock…was it really broken? Perhaps just a ploy so that Rick will never know who placed Octavia’s diary in his room. Afu certainly knows what goes on in the Bachelor House, don’t you agree? And Afu certainly prides himself on running a smooth household. So wonderful Afu has the support of other butlers if he needs advice on a problem at the house. But, isn’t it crazy how rumors can get started, and how easily sims believe the worst of another sim? Terrible, really…don’t you think?

Roxanna’s phone references of Nick, Vita and Holly are references to the Altos. Nick and Vita Alto live in Sunset Valley. And it sounds like Roxanna may have helped Holly’s career along by showing a friend some of Holly’s paintings. Of course, Nick thinks the world of Roxanna for helping his daughter. Joining the Nick and Vita Alto of the past (Sims 3), with the Holly Alto of the present (Sims 4).

Sul Sul! This is Roxanna Llama-Llama reporting to you LIVE from Sulani! This afternoon, Rick and the contestants are heading off to a fabulous location for their Kava Party. And apparently, the kava party started early at the Bachelor House. So I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, thought that having a house kava party was a fabulous idea, and decided that Cinnamon, Benny and I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, should hold our own kava party! Who’s up for some more kava?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Octavia had decided to start the Kava Party early at the Bachelor House, thinking that if Rick was ‘more relaxed’, then perhaps he would ‘make a move on her’ during the actual Kava Party. Or maybe, she could make a move on him.

And let’s just say, that the kava was flowing…

…and flowing….and Rick certainly had more than a few glasses of kava…he even told Octavia that he just couldn’t get enough of the stuff…

And Octavia made more kava. She noticed that Rick had wandered over to chat with Raven. “More kava is ready!” Octavia shouted.

And when Rick heard Octavia shout that more kava was ready…he just up and stopped talking to Raven and headed to get a glass of kava…almost like Rick was in a kava trance. By the look on her face, Raven couldn’t believe what had just happened. Rick has chosen kava over Raven. This couldn’t be a good thing. And the kava kept flowing…and flowing…

…five kava bowls later and Octavia makes a toast “to the most handsome Bachelor around”. Rick really liked that toast, and he most definitely liked the sim who made the toast in his honor. Oh gosh! Look at those steamy looks between Rick and Octavia! Whoa! It was time to get ready for the actual Kava Party, and Rick grabbed yet another glass of kava on his way to his bedroom to get changed. By the time they left the Bachelor House for the real Kava Party, Rick and all the contestants were in high spirits.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The Kava Party was being held at the Sulani Beach Lounge. There were so many activities to do, juice pong, foosball, dancing, and of course, drinking some of the best kava on the island. And that was one of Rick’s priorities when he got there…make the kava.

Coral, meanwhile, seemed to be a bit hungry and headed over to the bar-b-q shack.

Rick decided to find out what that delicious smell was, and joined her. Coral had ordered the tropical vegetable plate, but Rick was kind of eyeing the Kalua pork plate. Everything looked and smelled so good.

Nami came up to him then and asked if Rick would like to have a game of foosball together. Rick told her that would be fun, but he had to make some kava first. 

Rick mixed up the kava, which was a recipe that his friend, Manu, had given him. Just wait until everyone tastes this. Best kava on the island. He called everyone over to try some kava.

With a glass of kava in hand, he joins Nami at the bar. Rick thought Nami looked rather cute in her outfit, and pays her a compliment. Nami blushes a bit, but is secretly thrilled that Rick is paying attention to her again.

“So, Rick, are you ready to have that foosball game? I’ve been practicing at the house, so don’t except to win today!” chuckled Nami.

“Is that a challenge?” Rick asked jokingly.

“You bet it is!” laughed Nami as they got up together.

Nami and Rick head over to the foosball table and not long after, Octavia comes over to watch them play. And even though Nami had some great manoeuvres, Rick wins the game.

“Well, I guess you are still the undefeated Island Champ, Rick,” said Nami. And before Nami could say or do anything else with Rick, Octavia whisked him off.

“Rick, that kava was so yummy, and the bowl is empty. Will you be making some more?” asked Octavia holding an almost empty glass of kava in her hand.

“The kava is all gone? Well, we can’t have that. I will certainly make some more,” grinned Rick mixing up another batch.

Of course Rick had to grab a glass to ensure it met his quality approval. And it did! 

And he joined Octavia at the bar, where they sipped kava and were getting cozy with each other. Rick thought that Octavia looked especially vibrant today and paid her a compliment. Octavia responded with a lilting laugh, thinking that taking the extra time to choose her outfit was worth it. Octavia definitely had Rick’s attention.

Naomi saw Rick and Octavia together at the bar and Naomi wasn’t too happy about it.

“So, what Coral told me was true. I’ve noticed that Octavia is hanging around Rick, and even watched the foosball game with Nami. Geez! How am I going to get some time alone with him?” thought Nami as she sat down beside Octavia.

Rick got up to make another batch of kava, and saw Naomi sitting there and started chatting with her.

“I heard that you won a rock climbing challenge. That is something I’d love to try some day,” Rick said to Naomi.

“Yes, I did,” responded Naomi beaming, “Benny told me they had a gym with a rock climbing wall on the island. Maybe we can go there together.“

“I think that’s a great idea, Naomi. The whole house can go there for a group outing,” chimed in Octavia.

“Oh, sure…the whole house can go…” Naomi said, although she was really hoping it would have been just Rick and her.

“Well at least I’ve got Rick’s attention now and can keep an eye on them,” thought Naomi.

And Rick raises his glass in a toast to all the “lovely ladies” who are here tonight.

Rick sees Raven sitting at a table by herself and heads over to join her. Of course, Octavia gets up from the bar stool and walks over to the table as well, but is stopped by one of the locals who wanted to know what it was like to live with ‘Island Rick.’ Even though Octavia wanted to sit down beside Rick, she politely conversed with the islander.

“Um, Rick….” Raven started, “Have you eaten anything today?”

“Oh…umm…well, come to think of it, I think I skipped breakfast and lunch. Well, actually I had a liquid kava lunch,” Rick laughed as he placed his kava glass down and spilled some of it onto the table.

“I think I’ll go bar-b-q something for everyone,” Rick said and wobbled a bit when he stood up, steading himself by placing his hand on the table.

Coral came over to chat with Rick while he was bar-b-q’ing. Rick was thinking that Coral looked rather gorgeous today, with her cute little shorts on and that hat.  Always wearing a hat. He was so busy chatting with Coral, that he nearly burned the corn.

“You kind of got me a bit distracted there Coral. That outfit is very cute on you,” Rick said as he turned the corn over.

With that compliment, Coral was feeling a bit flirty and was almost about to blow Rick a kiss when Octavia strolled towards them.

“Oh, hello Octavia…” said Coral half-heartedly.

Octavia glanced at Coral and strode right up to Rick as if Coral wasn’t even there. “Oh, Rick, I was wondering where you went. It’s so great that you’ve made some food for everyone. Let’s sit together, shall we?” as she took Rick’s arm in hers and headed back towards the tables.

One of the bartenders had put out a juice keg, and Brianna seems to be a pro at tapping the juice.

“I’ve always wanted to do a keg stand,” Brianna commented to Naomi, as she heard Rick call them to lunch. “Well, maybe later,” Brianna thought.

It looks like a few islanders came to eat lunch with Rick, and so Octavia had to sit at another table! As the islanders headed off, Coral headed back to the bar-b-q shack.

And it was just her luck that Rick was still sitting there when she returned with two plates laden with food.

“I know you were thinking about ordering the Kalua pork plate before, but didn’t have a chance, so I grabbed you one. And I thought I would get one for myself as well,” Coral smiled as she placed the plate in front of Rick.

“Coral, thank you, and so glad you grabbed a plate for yourself. Now you can tell me what you think. Isn’t it the best?” Rick enthused.

They continued to chat about the spices in the pork, and then the conversation turned to a more personal nature with Rick commenting on Coral’s beautiful eyes. Coral thought that the conversation was going so well…

…Um, it was going great until Octavia plunked herself down beside Rick and starting chatting with him.

“Sheesh! She’s everywhere today!” thought Coral.

After lunch, Brianna asked Rick if he could help her do a keg stand.

“I’ve never done one before, so, what do you think, do you want to try?” asked Brianna giving him her biggest smile.

I mean, seriously, how could he resist that smile…so naturally he agreed.

Rick had a bit of trouble hoisting Brianna up, but he finally did it.

“Gosh, Brianna, you’re a slippery little thing. But…ummm…you smell good…like coconut…” said Rick as he tried to hoist Brianna higher.

“It’s my coconut suntan lotion. I may have put on a bit too much,” replied Brianna.

Rick holds Brianna up as best he can, and then his hand slipped and oops Brianna takes a tumble.

“Sorry, Brianna, my hand just slipped on all that lotion you put on yourself,” Rick said, hoping Brianna was okay.

Then Rick started laughing…“But you should have seen it. That would have been a great video. It was so funny! OMG! That was an epic fail for sure! Hilarious!”

“Oh yah, real funny,” said Brianna sarcastically.

Rick couldn’t stop laughing, “Do you want me to kiss all your boo boos away?” Rick asked.

“Ouch! My aching butt cheeks!” winced Brianna, “I don’t think you would be laughing if this happened to you,” Brianna retorted.

“Well, come on then…try to lift me so I can do a keg stand,” laughed Rick.

“Yah, right. You’d probably fall on top of me when you fell! I think I might have to recruit a few of the ladies to help me hoist you!” teased Brianna.

Brianna didn’t seem too mad at Rick, especially when she did an autonomous flirt with him. Oh yeah!

And Rick certainly didn’t mind Brianna flirting with him at all.

Their little flirt on the beach was cut short, though, when Octavia seemed to appear out of nowhere.

“Oh, that was a fun stunt, Brianna. Mind if I give it a go? I mean, I know Rick here, with his strong muscles, wouldn’t drop ME…” Octavia said batting her eyes at Rick.

Rick smiles and helps Octavia up.

And that’s how it’s done! Octavia does a successful keg stand. Looks like Raven is keeping an eye on the two of them since Brianna headed out. Octavia heads to the restroom.

Rick saw Raven standing there and went up to her. “Do you want to try, Raven? 

Raven laughed, “I saw what happened with Brianna, so I am going to pass on that offer. But maybe if it included an after-tumble massage, I might be tempted,” Raven winked, flirting with Rick a bit.

They both laughed and Rick gave Raven an appreciable glance before he headed over to make some more kava.

“Kava, Kava, Kava!” Rick shouted as he hurried over to the bar again.

And Rick makes more kava. Oh, look, Rick might be a trendsetter. An islander is wearing the same shirt as Rick!

And Rick grabs another kava…

…and another kava…

…and makes another toast…

…and makes some more kava…

…And Rick grabs yet another kava…

Naomi comes over and asks Rick if he wants to play juice pong with her. Juice Pong? Really? Naomi, maybe a game of ping pong would have been better.

Rick takes another swig of kava, and then it hits. BOOM! One minute Rick was feeling fine, the next minute, the world was spinning around him. Rick is sloshed!

I’ve been told that island locals will often consume anywhere from 4-8 shells in a solid kava drinking session.* Counting the number of shells that Rick has had or prepared, it looks like Rick has had 9 or more shells. Oh Rick! You are kava’d!

And Rick somehow staggers over to the ping pong table and does a rather pathetic ping pong throw, which completely misses the cup.

“That’s a point for me, Rick. You have to drink one of your cups now!” Naomi said, laughing at how badly Rick was playing.

Rick guzzles the first glass.

Now it’s Naomi’s turn, and bingo right into the cup. Nice throw!

“Waaas in ‘ere?” Rick said as he downed another glass, “Not kava! Mus have kava!” Rick said as he weaved back towards the bar.

“But Rick, we haven’t finished playing…” Naomi shouted after him.

Rick grabs another glass of kava and sees Brianna on the dance floor. He staggers on over there.

Um, yah! Rick is rather mesmerized by Brianna’s dance moves.

“Come dance with me, Rick…” Brianna says invitingly.

Rick tries to do a few dance moves and nearly falls over. He nods to Brianna and heads to the nearest table and sits down. Octavia sees Rick sitting alone and sits down beside him. Octavia says something to Rick, but he doesn’t seem to hear.

“Um…Rick…did you hear me? Would you like to go on a walk along the beach?” Octavia repeated herself.

“Wit yooouu? Shuuurr…Less hol hands aaand skip tharrr….” Rick slurred his words.

Octavia looked around. No-one seemed to be watching them.

“Come on Rick,” Octavia said grabbing him by the hand, “We’ll go this way.” Octavia held her finger up to her lips and whispered to Rick, “But quietly, okay?”

Rick winked at Octavia, and put his finger on his lips, “Shhh….it’s a sssecret…like Sssecret Saaanta…”

Octavia headed down towards the water holding Rick’s hand in hers. Octavia felt his eyes on her.

And suddenly Rick stopped and took both of Octavia’s hands in his, “Yer soooo bootiful…Oc…avia…smelll good…” Rick slurred.

And Rick does an autonomous “kiss hands” with Octavia. Things are starting to heat up.

Dang Rick, you’ve had way too much kava! I don’t know how you are still standing. You’re not thinking straight. Go back to the party. Oh Rick, do you know where you are? Do you know who you’re with? Where are the other ladies? Aren’t they supposed to be looking out for you tonight?

But all Rick could think about was Octavia…and what he was thinking…well, oh la la!

This was it! Octavia could feel it. The way Rick looked at her. He definitely had romantic thoughts about her. It was all going according to plan. Tonight was the night! But someone could see them. She had to stay out of sight. Maybe if they waded in the water a bit, and moved over so they were obstructed by that “bush”…

“Shall we wade in the water a bit, Rick…but not too deep, though, okay?” suggested Octavia coyly.

Meanwhile back at the bar area, Brianna noticed that Rick was missing. Naomi looked around and noticed that Octavia was missing, too. They were both gone! Oh no!

“Tell the others, Naomi, we’ll spread out and find them. Hurry!” Brianna said as she almost ran to where Raven was playing ping pong.

Rick and Octavia waded into the water, and Rick kept a firm grip on Octavia’s hand.

They stopped, but they needed to head over farther to obscure their view. Octavia breathed a sigh, “Oh, Rick, I just needed to get away, you know. Have some alone time with you. Tell you how much I truly appreciate you…” whispered Octavia.

“And hold that hunky body close to me and make you mine. ‘Tonight you’re mine, completely…'” Octavia thought.

“Yer so sssweet…sssweet Oc..avia…sexy…aaaannnnd…sweeeet…Oc…avia…. Come ‘ere,” Rick slurred pulling Octavia closer to him. Octavia gave a little laugh as he did that.

Everyone had spread out looking for Rick and Octavia. Raven thought she heard some laughter and walked down towards the water. And sure enough, there was Rick and Octavia.

“Well, well, well…alone and cozy with Rick, aren’t we Octavia? Guess I’ll just have to put a stop to that!” Raven thought walking purposefully towards the water.

“Yer lipss…red lipsss…wan ’em….wanna kisss ’em…” Rick whispered, slurring his words.

“Well, Rick…why don’t you kiss me then…” answered Octavia, inching a bit closer to him.

“Kiss me, Rick…and let it begin…” thought Octavia.

They almost didn’t hear her, but Octavia was the first to see her.

“Ahem…” Raven uttered, pretending to clear her throat. The moment was broken and Rick pulled away from Octavia, shaking his head a bit as if to clear his foggy mind.

“Uh, Raven…what are you doing here?” Octavia said a bit shocked at the sight of Raven, “We were…um…just taking a walk along the beach…”

“Of course…nice night for it. Well, we were all wondering where YOU and Rick were…” Raven said looking pointedly at Octavia, “The DJ has arrived and they’re giving out prizes for the best dancer. I didn’t want you two to miss out. Plus, I wanted to see if Rick could do the funky chicken…” Raven said laughing, looking at Rick.

“Oh, shuure…shounds fun..” Rick replied, slurring his words again slightly and flapping his wings as they walked. Rick happily headed back with Raven to the party, albeit, weaving a bit as he headed up the path.

“And, coffee, Rick…you need some coffee…” Raven said as they walked together.

“Kaaaaavaa coofffeee…yummm…”, Rick answered.

“No…no more kava, Rick…just coffee…okay?” Raven replied half holding Rick up as they walked.

“Oh my plumbobs! That Raven coming to interrupt Rick and I. And I was so close…so close, and Raven had to come and spoil it! Darn! Well, they’ll be other parties and Rick and my Solo Date together…so, there’s still time to make Rick mine,” Octavia smiled thinking about the heat that she had felt with Rick at their near First Kiss.

The next morning, Rick woke up with a massive hang-over. Oh, his head hurt. Way too much kava last night. He didn’t even remember half of what happened. Afu had already prepared some strong black coffee and set that, along with a glass of water and some aspirin on his bedside table. Rick sat up and reached for the coffee and saw a book sitting beside it. He picked up the book. It looked like some sort of diary. What was it doing in his room? And whose diary was it? There was a post-it sticky on one of the pages and he opened it up and started reading. He suddenly knew whose diary this belonged to. Rick decided that he should deliver the diary back to the owner personally.

Author’s Notes: Well, the kava party was certainly a wild time, but perhaps Rick had a wee bit too much kava. And whatever plans that Octavia may have had with Rick were quickly squelched by Raven’s appearance. Of course, Octavia is not going to give up that easily, afterall, there will be other parties…and her solo date again with Rick. And now here it is the next morning, and Rick has quite the hang-over and finds that a diary has been placed on his bedside table. Who could have put it there? And when he reads it, he knows who it belongs to! Oh my gosh! Did Rick read the same pages that Raven read? This can’t be a good thing!

Many thanks to this simmer for creating this incredible build. I changed the lot type to a Lounge. I added some food vendor stalls, kava bowls, the juice keg, a foosball table, a bar-b-q, and a stereo on stage. I also added the “Cursed” lot trait, which gives the dazed moodlet; however, I didn’t need that as Rick got dazed all on his own, from drinking way too much kava.

Sul Sul! This is Roxanna Llama-Llama reporting to you LIVE from Sulani. With the Comeback Challenge over and Naomi Mahina announced as the winner, we are now on our way to finding that “Somebody To Love” for Rick. From 19 contestants, it is now down to the top six! Are you excited?

Before we head to the Bachelor House, I have a wonderful announcement! The producers have decided that the Comeback Challenge was so close that they have offered a position to Cinnamon Apple. Yes, that’s right! Cinnamon will be living here with Benny and I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, and be a consultant to the contestants. What that means is that she will be available to them if they need to talk to someone about Rick, provide make-up and wardrobe help, and also help out with ceremonies, etc. It is so wonderful to have Cinnamon as part of our team.

It was a long day for the “eliminated” contestants yesterday, and so, today will be a relaxing day at the Bachelor House with a Kava Party scheduled for later this afternoon. 

And Cinnamon has these words of advice for the contestants…”Keep it SPICY ladies!” Cinnamon shouts playfully.

Oh, Cinnamon, I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, like your style! We are going to get along so well and have so much fun! And now, let’s head to the Bachelor House and see how all the contestants are doing.

Naomi: I did it! I’m here again! To be honest, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it through that guitar marathon with Cinnamon. My skin felt so dry and flaky and I was parched. I almost quit, but something inside of me kept spurring me on. And just when I thought I couldn’t pluck another string, Cinnamon stopped playing. It was just luck in the end that I won. But you know, even though Cinnamon lost, she congratulated me and wished me luck, and now we’re even good friends. And I heard that the producers asked Cinnamon to be the Consultant for the Contestants, so I will be seeing her again. That makes me so happy.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Naomi: “I was so exhausted when they brought me back to the house last night that I just collapsed in bed. I can’t believe that was just yesterday. I was gone two whole days, and now here I am in the Bachelor House again, sharing a room with Coral! She was really happy I was back and said that “we” mermaids have to stick together. She told me some things that had happened while I was gone. But basically, it looks like things are heating up between Rick and Octavia. Coral told me that Raven had told her that Octavia had some plan on getting Rick alone…and, uh, that Octavia has more than just getting a first kiss in mind.”

“I think she will do anything right now to make sure that Rick is hers!” whispered Coral.

“So, I should watch out for Octavia?” asked Naomi.

“Well, she wasn’t exactly happy that you came back. But it’s like she is everywhere that Rick is now. It’s hard to get some ‘alone’ time with him anymore…you know, just to chat about things. And Raven thinks she’s planning on getting Rick alone at the party tonight to…umm…well…you know…” Coral trailed off.

“To do what Coral?” asked Naomi.

“Well, let’s just say that Octavia has quite a past with ‘playing the field’, if you know what I mean…” hinted Coral.

“Oh my gosh!” exclaimed Naomi, “We can’t leave them alone!”

“Exactly!” replied Coral.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Nami: “I feel kind of sad today that a contestant has returned to the Bachelor House. I have nothing against Naomi, in fact, I like her, but it’s just that we were down to five contestants and now there are six of us. To be honest, I truly care about Rick, but, lately, I’ve felt that Rick has sort of focused on just one sim…Octavia. Or maybe, it’s Octavia who has focused on him. All I know is that this morning, I saw Octavia and Rick in the kitchen, and Octavia was standing so close to Rick and flirting with him. I know what you’re thinking, who am I to talk? Sure, I’ve flirted openly on group dates with Rick, but, well, I didn’t mean for anyone to see me or get hurt, but here in the house…well, I just never expected that. I know I’ve had my first kiss with Rick, and an even better second kiss, but the way Octavia was coming on to Rick…well, I just know she has something else in mind. And I feel it’s not just a kiss that she’s after. But what I can’t understand is why Rick can’t see this? Geez!

I can honestly say that I’m in love with Rick and am dreaming of a lifetime together with him. But, from what I’ve heard about Octavia, well, let’s just say she has had a lot of boyfriends and gets bored rather easily with them. Maybe it’s the thrill of the chase and that’s why she wants Rick so badly, but I can’t really see them together in the long run. I know that sounds harsh, and partly it’s because of the way I feel about Rick, but I just don’t want him to get hurt. And, you know, Brianna mentioned something to me earlier about Octavia spending an awful lot of time with Rick, and she, too, felt that Octavia was up to something. And, all I know, is that I am not going to leave Octavia and Rick alone at the party tonight.”

Raven: “Okay, so I have a confession to make. I snooped in Octavia’s diary. Don’t judge me! I seriously had to, because I have noticed that something is going on with her. And I kind of let my guard slip a bit when I had my date with Rick, but I just felt she was up to something. And, so, I saw her diary just lying there on her bedside table, and read it and my suspicions were confirmed. And it’s happening tonight. At the Kava party. She plans on having Rick drink a lot of kava, and get him ‘very relaxed’. Then she plans on somehow getting him away from the party, getting her first kiss and then seducing Rick to…um…well…it goes into detail, but let me just say this…she wants more than just that kiss. She must have been planning this for weeks because every time I see Rick now, Octavia is right there beside him. I knew I had to keep my eye on her! She didn’t get a first kiss on her last solo date, was nearly eliminated, hates that another contestant has come back, and now feels that she has to do something…anything…to get Rick.”

“But why this? Maybe…oh wait…oh I think I know what her strategy is. Rick is a nice guy and is not the type to “woohoo” unless he really feels something for someone. Plus, Rick would never do that on the Bachelor in Paradise Show…I think there’s even a rule about it. And so, Octavia probably thinks that he will feel obligated to her if they… you know… “do it”…especially if … OMG… especially if she becomes pregnant! I mean, hasn’t she said she wants to start a family? And Rick certainly wants a family. Geez! That’s her plan! That’s how she’s going to get Rick! Octavia is far craftier than I would have thought and I definitely have to stop this from happening! These two can’t be left alone. I really can’t let Octavia take advantage of Rick like this. I have to stop her!”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Coral: “I’m glad that Naomi is back. I know that sounds weird coming from another contestant, but, we’re both mermaids, so it’s nice to have someone who understands what you’re going through as a mermaid. At the Rose Ceremony, I was kind of shocked at Raven’s behavior on stage, but afterwards, she did apologize to all of us, and, you know, thinking back on it now, it wasn’t really a big deal. Hey, I know, that sometimes it’s hard to control myself from just grabbing Rick and giving him a big smooch, but, just not in front of everyone. I kind of wait until he makes a move, and when he does, like on our Solo Date, it is so worth waiting for. But, I’ve noticed lately that Octavia is really trying to make a move on Rick. In fact, Raven told me in confidence that she thinks that Octavia is up to something.”

“That was this morning. As I was walking towards the kitchen, I saw Raven leaving the kitchen area looking kind of sad. I also saw that Rick and Octavia were in deep conversation in the kitchen. It seems that no matter where I go now, I see Octavia and Rick together all the time.”

“I waited awhile outside the bathroom, and when I heard the shower turn off, I knocked politely on the door, and saw Raven with her sunglasses on, like she was trying to hide her eyes or something. Had she been crying? I asked her if she was okay because she did look kind of sad, which is so unlike Raven.”

“Well, she told me it was hard for her to see Rick and Octavia together, and that she knew something. She knew what Octavia was planning on doing. She swore me into secrecy and told me she had sort of read Octavia’s diary, and in it, Octavia had written about her plan to get Rick “very relaxed” at the kava party, and find a secluded spot to um…well…go all the way with him. I about fainted. I couldn’t believe what Raven had told me! I couldn’t believe that Rick would do that either because he was such a gentleman. But I guess, if he had too much kava, he could be easily manipulated. Raven suggested that we keep an eye on Octavia and Rick and not let them be alone together. I wholeheartedly agreed, of course, and Raven seemed to cheer up after that. I then left her alone.”

“I saw Brianna in the hallway, and even though I didn’t tell her exactly what Raven had told me, I did mention that I felt something was going on between Octavia and Rick. I also told her that she shouldn’t let Octavia and Rick out of her sight at the party tonight. From her look, I knew that Brianna also had some similar thoughts about Octavia.”

Brianna:  “It was kind of hard accepting that another contestant is now back in the Bachelor House. But at least Naomi is a nice sim, and seriously, Naomi is the least of my worries. Since the Rose Ceremony, Raven apologized to everyone for what happened on stage and we all kind of forgave her. But, it’s really Octavia who seems to be a big threat now. She has upped her game and is always around Rick. I used to like to chat with Rick over morning coffee, and now every time I go in the kitchen, Octavia is there practically draping herself over Rick. And Rick…gosh…sometimes guys just can’t see what’s going on…he is just his normal, friendly self, chatting with her. Octavia is up to something. I can’t put my finger on it, but Octavia is not a sim who plays by the rules. And Coral seems to know something, because she’s hinted to me that Octavia is plotting something. And I mentioned it to Nami, who noticed that Octavia was spending a lot of time with Rick lately. So, yeah, I’m not the only one who has felt this. Sure, this is a competition, but I still feel that Octavia is not in it for the long run, and is just toying with Rick. Well, I am in it for the long run, and I am going to make sure I shine at that party tonight…and make sure that Octavia and Rick don’t get a moment alone.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Raven: Once Coral had left the bathroom, Raven removed her sunglasses. “Just so you know, I am not sad or anything. I just had to get Coral on my side, to put the wheels in motion. I know that Coral will certainly tell the others to keep an eye on Octavia and Rick, and do everything to keep them apart. It should make for an interesting party tonight, don’t you think?”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Octavia: “You know, getting up early has its advantages. I get the kitchen all to myself and over coffee, I like to think about some schemes…I mean…er…some plans for the day. And often, Rick comes in when I am sitting there. Just makes the start of my day kind of perfect.”

“And he grabs a coffee, and sits down beside me, and we’ve gotten quite “cozy” during those morning chats. I’ve even shared a few thoughts with him about a book I’m writing. But that Rick…always a gentleman. He never tries anything with me, although I wish he would. I think maybe if he was a bit more “relaxed”, maybe then he would make a move on me. And seriously, now more than ever, I need to make that happen with Naomi’s reappearance. Who would have thought that an eliminated contestant could return?”

“So, I guess it’s up to me to make the first move with Rick. But, here, in the Bachelor House, there are so many prying eyes. And Brianna is an early riser, too, and comes in the kitchen always surprised to see Rick and I there together.”

“And then there’s Raven, who just appears unexpectedly at the worse times. I mean, seriously, who works out and comes in the kitchen all hot and sweaty, just to grab a glass of water, and tells Rick he missed a good workout. Raven can’t grab a bottled water in the gym and has to come all the way into the kitchen to get some water? I really think she is looking for Rick just to see who he is with. And Rick…he actually looks happy to see her, even though she smells badly. Men…sheesh!”

“But I really don’t care what the others think. I am going to make Rick mine. And if I have to do…um…something…to turn the odds in my favor…so be it. I plan to follow Rick around all day, and what a perfect day it is going to be with the Kava Party tonight.”

“But who says we have to wait until tonight to sample some kava? I mean, we could get the party started early…you know…so Rick is more relaxed…”

Author’s Notes: Uh oh! Trouble at the Bachelor House! What exactly is Octavia up to and what did Octavia really write in her diary? Should we take Raven’s word for it? Could Raven’s conspiracy theory be right about Octavia? Or is this some elaborate plan on Raven’s part to prevent Octavia from getting a first kiss with Rick? What exactly is Octavia planning to do at the Kava Party?

Sul Sul! This is Roxanna Llama-Llama and Benny Fielding reporting to you LIVE from Sulani. Last night at Rose Ceremony # 4, I, Roxanna Llama-Llama had a phone call from the producers of the show stating that there would be a Comeback Challenge for all the eliminated contestants. What that means is that all 14 eliminated contestants will be competing with each other for the chance to “come back” to the Bachelor in Paradise show. Yes, that’s right! One lucky eliminated contestant will have another chance at winning Rick’s love and possibly becoming his “Somebody to Love.”

But before the Comeback Challenge can begin, Iris Costello and Naomi Mahina have been whisked away to Newcrest to join the other eliminated contestants. Because they are new arrivals and still…err…adjusting to the new house, we will start the Comeback Challenge with House #2.

Challenge 2: You Make My Dreams Come True – Yoga (Corpse Pose)

House 2: Yoga requires the Wellness skill. Surprisingly Lara has a smidgen of skill…she must have been practicing at the house. But, no other contestants in this house have any wellness skill. Kyra has taken a bit of a snooze during the Yoga Challenge.

House 2: This may have helped Kyra Kealohi, as she wins the Yoga Challenge, ousting the last two competitors, Miriam and then Lara. Congratulations, Kyra!

House 1: And Tabitha Waldron is the winner as she is the last to get up, ousting Iris and then Maegan. Congratulations, Tabitha!

House 2: Paint a large classic painting. No contestants in House 2 had any painting skills. I was surprised as there are easels at both Elimination Houses.

House 2: All paintings came out poor. There is a tie for first place between Cinnamon Apple and Isla Waters. Their paintings are both worth $89 simoleons. Congratulations to both Cinnamon and Isla!

Challenge 4: Say You’ll Be There – Bowling

House 2:  Some contestants have some bowling skill already from a Group Bowling Date, so Cinnamon, Miriam and Lara have 3 bowling skill points. To even the playing field somewhat, I had the contestants with no bowling skills, bowl a 3-ball game prior to the 10-pin bowling challenge. The actual challenge starts above.

House 2: Look at that style! Yes, Lara McGowan wins the tournament with an amazing  score of 256! This is the second challenge that Lara has won today. She is on a “roll”. Congratulations, Lara!

House 1: Some contestants have some bowling skill already from a Group Bowling Date; Iris-1 and Naomi-3. Surprisingly, Janay also has 2 bowling skill points. I left the Bowling Alley build in the game, so maybe Janay joined a bowling league? To even the playing field, I did the same as for House 2 and had those contestants with no bowling skills, bowl a 3-ball game prior to the 10-pin bowling challenge. The actual challenge starts above.

House 1: Strike! Naomi Mahina is on fire and she crushes the competition and wins the challenge. This is the second time that Naomi has won today. In fact her unbelievable score of 285 is the best from both houses. Naomi receives 5 bonus points for being the Victory Champ in the Bowling Challenge Category. Congratulations, Naomi!

We are at the halfway point in the challenge, and the contestants head to green up. House 2 mermaids, Isla and Merinda, have a glass of water to stay hydrated. Good thinking ladies!

Who is that sitting on the bench with the House 1 contestants? Is that their butler? Maybe they came to cheer them on. That bowling match must have tired Iris out as she takes a quick nap. And soon everyone is greened up and ready to continue the challenge course.

Challenge 5: I Want To Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) – DJ’ing – SCRAPPED

This challenge was tested by Roxanna and Benny and it worked fine. After a while, they got tips. However, when I used this for the actual challenge, one of the House 2 contestants caused a fire. Yep! Fires can start from a portable DJ booth. Of course, all the contestants had the stressed moodlet about the fire, and thankfully I had done a save after the bowling challenge. So, because I didn’t want the contestants to have those terrible moodlets, I just exited without saving and came back to where it was last saved. However, I wanted to share these screenies with you.

Miriam and Isla autonomously rushed to extinguish the fire.

I guess you could say that Cinnamon Apple was “burning” up the dance floor with her DJ mixing skills!

Challenge 5: It’s Gonna Be Me – Pumpkin Carving – REVISED

I replaced pumpkin carving for the DJ Mixing Challenge. Possibly not the best, as a lot of contestants got the same amount for their pumpkins. With the winner getting 7 points (plus an extra point for winning), I decided that those who tied for 2nd, 3rd etc. place, would just get the same points. So if two sims tied for 2nd, they each got 6 points, for third, they each got 5 points. I didn’t want to have to do a lot of tie-run offs for second and third places.

House 2: Pumpkin Carving builds the handiness skill. No contestants had this skill. All pumpkins were normal quality.

House 2: Looks like Miriam Epp’s pumpkin has won the challenge. Her pumpkin is worth $16 simoleons. And look, she even lit her pumpkin. Congratulations, Miriam!

House 1: Again, no contestants have any handiness skill, and the pumpkins are normal quality. Pumpkin guts…yuck!

House 1: Hokulani Kalua and Janay Willians tie for first place. Their pumpkins are both worth $16 simoleons. This is the second challenge category that Hokulani has won today. Congratulations to both Hokulani and Janay!

Challenge 6: You Belong With Me – Ball Juggling

House 2: Ball juggling builds the Fitness Skill. Each contestant gets two ball attempts and the game automatically gives the score. Here is the wild start of their first ball attempt.

House 2: Merinda Paewai just keeps going on her first ball after everyone else is on their second ball. I can’t wait to see her score! Even after the other contestants have moved on to the next ping pong challenge, Merinda is STILL juggling that first ball!

House 1: Some of the contestants have a bad start on their first ball attempt, but are at it again.

House 1: Desiree Avalon wins the Ball Juggling Challenge with an impressive score of 88 (80 on her first ball and 8 on her second ball). Good job! Congratulations, Desiree!

House 2: And Merinda Paewai (aka The Energizer Bunny), has an impressive final score of 200 (144 + 56), which is the best from both houses. Amazing score!  Merinda receives 5 bonus points for being the Victory Champ in the Ball Juggling Challenge Category. Congratulations, Merinda! And, yes, you get to keep the soccer ball.

Challenge 7: Take A Chance On Me – Ping Pong Tournament

House 2: There is no skill required for ping pong. It is random. All winners receive 7 +1 points and all Losers…err…Non-Winners receive 6 points. The ping pong tournaments: Cinnamon vs Charlotte (Winner Cinnamon 3-1); Isla vs Lara (Winner Isla 3-0); Miriam vs Kyra (winner Miriam 3-2). In the background you can see Merinda still going strong on the ball juggling. Merinda will play ping pong against a contestant in House 1.

House 2: Cinnamon Apple, Miriam Epp, and Isla Waters are the winners of the ping pong matches. Congratulations, ladies! This is the second challenge category that Cinnamon, Miriam, and Isla have won today. These three contestants will continue to the Ping Pong Victory Showdown to compete against the winners of House 1 in a round-robin tournament.

And that concludes the “I Want You Back” Comeback Challenge. Now, I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, have been keeping exact score for all the contestants, and I have to say, it is very, very close. Let me double-check my calculations and I will be right back…

And it seems we have a tie! Yes! I can’t believe it myself! Now, in the event that this should happen, there is a final Tie-Breaker Challenge. The two contestants will battle it out on the guitar, as both have no guitar skills. They will play until one of the contestants can’t play any more. Here is hoping that the contestants “Don’t Stop The Music” on their quest to be back with Rick again. Good luck, Cinnamon and Naomi!

And the challenge starts at 8:06 am. Almost immediately, they both get an embarrassed “Musical Insecurity” and tense “Frayed Nerves” moodlets. Naomi gets a Happy moodlet of “Home Turf” from her Beach Life Aspiration. Cinnamon gets two happy moodlets, one from her “loves outdoors” trait, and the other from her “music lover” trait. They both also have happy moodlets from a “decorated” lot.

And suddenly at 12.04 pm, Cinnamon puts her guitar down.

Poor Cinnamon. I think she realizes what she has just done. She is out. She has lost her chance to be with Rick again. So sorry , Cinnamon.

Cinnamon’s needs at end of challenge (left), and Naomi’s needs at end of challenge (right). It was very close and I thought that because of Naomi’s dehydration level, she wouldn’t make it. I guess that Naomi was very determined to win this challenge and have another chance with Rick.

AND THE WINNER IS…

Naomi Mahina wins the Tie-Breaker Guitar Challenge and, more importantly, wins the “I Want You Back” Comeback Challenge! Naomi is so relieved to stop playing the guitar and gets a glass of water. It was certainly great to see all the eliminated contestants again, and quite a few surprised me with their wins. But in the end, only one eliminated contestant can comeback. And even after all these challenges, which I thought would give a clear winner, we had a tie. Congratulations to Naomi Mahina, who I am sure never wants to play the guitar again. But, even if your sim didn’t win, I hope that you had fun and got some challenge ideas for your own gameplay.

I thought it would be fun to do this challenge based on songs from the decades that would correspond to an item in Sims 4. Because of a current bug in the game, however, I had to change some challenges. Each challenge earns a contestant points. Hope you like what I came up with. Click on the song title to listen to the song.

• Challenge 1: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell (1967) – Rock Climbing (Fitness-1-7 points per house based on when they fall or stop. An extra point to the winner. House 1 winner will then compete with House 2 winner for Victory Champ.)
• Challenge 2: Take a Chance on Me – Abba (1977) – Ping Pong Tournament (Random-Score) Because there are 7 contestants in each house, 1 randomly selected sim from House 1 will play against 1 sim in House 2 to get that score. There will therefore be 7 initial winners. These 7 winners will then compete in a round robin style until there is an individual Victory Champ.
• Challenge 3: You Make My Dreams Come True – Hall & Oates (1980) – Yoga (Corpse Pose)(Wellness- 1-7 pts per house based on when sim gets up. An extra point to the winner. House 1 winner will then compete with House 2 winner for Victory Champ.)
• Challenge 4:  You’re the Inspiration – Chicago (1984) – Painting (quality & amount) Individual challenge for both houses. If more than one painting with top amount in both houses, will have paint-off challenge for Victory Champ.
• Challenge 5: Say You’ll Be There – Spice Girls (1996) – Bowling (Bowl 10-pin-score) Top score from both houses wins the challenge and becomes Victory Champ.
• Challenge 6: It’s Gonna Be Me – NSYNC (2000) – Pumpkin Carving (Handiness-quality & amount) Individual challenge for both houses. If more than one pumpkin with top amount in both houses, will have pumpkin carving showdown for Victory Champ.
• Challenge 7: You Belong With Me – Taylor Swift (2009) – Ball Juggling (Fitness-2x-total score) I have found that sometimes a sim gets 0 on their first try. They will then autonomously try again to get a better score. So, the combined score of both tries will be the final score. Winner with best score from both houses wins the challenge and becomes Victory Champ.
• Challenge 8: Sugar – Maroon 5 (2015) – Holiday Cracker (Random-3 holiday crackers to open): To get the top score, “surprises” have been given values: 0 coins-nothing inside; 1 coin-bits & pieces; 2 coins-toy; 3 coins-candy – Max is 9 coins) Winner with best score from both houses wins the challenge and becomes the Victory Champ. If a tie, there will be a holiday cracker showdown. I got this idea from Stugaming’s Elimination Challenge. (He is currently doing a Big Brother Challenge, and my sim, Gem Stone is in it).
• Once all the individual scores are tabulated, if there is a Tie-Breaker for the Comeback Contestant, there will be a Guitar challenge where the contestants will play until one contestant can’t play any more. So, “Don’t Stop The Music” if you want to win the challenge. Who will make it to the end? (Don’t Stop The Music, Rihanna, 2007).

Final Scoring Explanation:

Because I don’t use mods to have all 14 contestants compete at the same time, this is how the scoring worked: There are 7 points per category. The contestant in each house who is the winner in a challenge category will be awarded 1 extra point, for a total score of 8 points per category. In the case of Rock Climbing and Yoga, the winner from House 1 and the winner from House 2 will compete in a Challenge Showdown. The contestant who wins this showdown is the Victory Champ for that challenge category and will receive an additional 5 points.

Per house, in cases of ties for first place in other challenges (ball juggling, holiday crackers, etc.), each contestant will be awarded 1 extra point. All contestants from both houses who are tied for first place will then compete in a Challenge Showdown. The contestant who wins is the Victory Champ for that challenge category will receive an additional 5 points.

If a contestant has the highest score from both houses combined, they will automatically be declared the Victory Champ and receive an additional 5 points. No Challenge Showdown will be required.

Sul Sul! This is Roxanna Llama-Llama reporting to you LIVE from Sulani. Today, we are at this fabulous location for Rose Ceremony #4. A beautiful garden setting, separated into outdoor rooms. It is open and spacious for groups, but it also has some secret nooks for a little private get-together. So, before the contestants and Rick arrive, let me give you a brief tour.

And finally, the Rose Ceremony area. Breathtaking isn’t it?

And not a moment too soon, as Rick and the contestants have arrived. And it looks like all of the ladies are dressed in floral outfits for the ceremony.

Some of the contestants are already hungry, so they head over to the al-fresco dining area for some appetizers.

Meanwhile, Benny has headed over to the secret room and found a wishing well. The well looks rather old, and it looks like Benny has thrown a coin into it and made a wish. I might have imagined it, but that wishing well seemed to come alive with that coin toss. Oh Benny, what did you wish for?

And suddenly something happens! Benny’s wish has been granted! Lucky, lucky Benny! 

Author’s Notes: The ‘Whispering Wishing Well’ came with this build, and I am always hesitant to use it because it always does something bad to my sims. I decided to let Benny test it out. He made an offering of $1,000 simoleons and he wished for skills. And I was quite surprised when I got a pop-up that Benny had mastered the guitar.

Benny then joins the ladies for some food and gossip. But mostly gossip. He heads over to sit with Raven, Naomi and Brianna.

Rick and Roxanna chat before the ceremony.

The sun was setting and it was time for the Rose Ceremony to begin. The contestants headed to their seats, some with drink in hand, ready to hear their fate.

Roxanna heads up to the microphone. “I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, want to welcome everyone to Rose Ceremony # 4. This venue has got to be one of the most spectacular Rose Ceremony locations that I have been to. Flowers, flowers everywhere! But not only in the garden, oh no! The contestants themselves have decided to wear floral outfits for the occasion. And, ladies, you have certainly outdone yourselves today. You all look so fabulous and certainly look perfect in this garden location. And, I have to admit that Bachelor Rick doesn’t look bad either. Right ladies? *laughter and applause* But as delightful as this location is, it is also the place where two contestants will sadly be leaving the Bachelor in Paradise show tonight. The producers conducted a poll with an outside consulting firm and the results have been tabulated. *holds up envelope* In this sealed envelope, I hold the names of the two contestants who will be heading home tonight. So, even I don’t know who it will be. Good luck ladies. I now give you Rick, our esteemed Bachelor.” *applause*

Roxanna hands Rick the sealed envelope and the microphone. Rick opens the envelope, scans a piece of paper, returns the paper to the envelope and hands it back to Roxanna.

“Before we begin, I just wanted to say that you all look absolutely stunning tonight. If you were all flowers in my garden, it would be hard to pick just one of you. You are all very unique and beautiful in your own way. And over the last few days, I have gotten to know you even more on our Group Date and Solo dates. And those Solo dates have been truly…memorable. I hope they were as memorable for you, too. And even though I have feelings for all of you, I do have some stronger feelings for some of you, which makes tonight even harder. And so, as before, each contestant will receive a rose, a red rose to those contestants who have formed a special place in my heart, and a yellow rose to those contestants who will always be a special friend.”

Rick headed to a table and chose four red roses and Roxanna took the microphone.

“May I ask the following contestants to come on stage: Raven Xang, Nami Chuu, Coral Reeves and Brianna Hammond. These contestants made quite an impression with Rick on their Solo Dates and will be continuing in the Bachelor in Paradise show. Congratulations ladies!”

Rick headed to Raven first to give her a red rose.

Raven must have been overcome with feelings for Rick after receiving that rose, because all of a sudden, she autonomously grabbed his hands in hers. And with that one swoop, almost destroys the competition on stage! Oh my gosh! The other contestants are reeling from this rather bold, romantic move on Raven’s part. Really? Right during the Rose Ceremony? How could she? And Rick? How could he let that happen? Ugh!

Author’s Note: I had no idea that Raven would do this and all of a sudden I saw her grab Rick’s hands in hers doing the “hold hands” romantic interaction. Totally autonomous. Nami and Brianna got that horrid “Drifting Love” sad moodlet right away. Coral had some happy moodlets still, but got the “Drifting Love” sad moodlet later on. What a disaster.

Rick didn’t seem aware of what had happened and continued giving each contestant their rose. Even though they were sad, they gratefully accepted the red rose.

What was meant to be a happy occasion for these four contestants, ended up being filled with sadness and jealousy for some. The contestants exited the stage and headed towards the al-fresco dining area. Roxanna had seen what had happened on-stage and called for a short break to let the contestants calm down.

Nami and Brianna returned to the ceremony area with some “comfort” food and sat together up front.

Nami looks like she is about to cry. “I thought I was “the one” for Rick, but I’m not so sure now. I mean…all those times on our Group Dates…flirting with each other…and our Solo Date kiss…but now…he and Raven…the way she looked at him…I just…I just…I just feel so sad…” thought Nami.

Brianna doesn’t look very happy. “I have a feeling that I am not the only one that Rick kissed. I am almost certain he kissed Raven, too. I mean the way she just took his hands in hers…like he was hers…and Rick just went along with it…in front of us! I knew this kind of thing could happen, but…just not here…at the Rose Ceremony…when Rick was giving us our red rose. Unbelievable! I just have to stay strong…yes, strong…” thought Brianna.

And that “Drifting Love” sad moodlet has now hit Coral and she can barely eat. “I didn’t realize what was going on until I saw Raven take Rick’s hands in hers. I can’t blame her, though, Rick is definitely “hot”. I would have probably done the same thing myself…just maybe not in front of everyone. Well, on second thought…maybe I would have done it…shown my love for Rick to the world. I really need to talk to someone about this…oh, that flower over there is beckoning me…maybe it has some advice…” thought Coral.

Raven was sitting there smiling without a care in the world thinking about what had happened on stage. “Rick was just so darn good-looking when he handed me that rose, and I just wanted to…well, I really wanted to kiss him, but I held his hands instead. I don’t know what all the fuss is about. It was just a little innocent hand holding,” Raven thought smiling to herself.

Was this a strategic move on Raven’s part to weaken the other contestants’ relationships with Rick, thereby strengthening her own? Well, it worked, for she nearly wiped out her competition. Raven has shown us some strategy in the past and perhaps this is her new plan of action. Raven is certainly a contestant to watch.

Roxanna goes on stage and resumes the ceremony. “Now that we’ve all had a chance to…err…refresh ourselves, it is time to ask the three contestants who were in the Elimination Voting Poll to come on-stage. May I ask Iris Costello, Octavia Dillon and Naomi Mahina to come forward.” Roxanna hands Rick the microphone.

“Earlier this evening, Roxanna handed me a sealed envelope, which I opened, and inside on a slip of paper were the names of the contestants who would be heading home. Before these contestants are revealed, I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed my time spent with Iris, Naomi and Octavia immensely and even though two of you will be leaving tonight, the memories of our times together will stay with me forever.”

Rick went to the table and picked up two yellow roses and one red rose. He walked to Naomi first…and held out a yellow rose. “I’m sorry, Naomi, you will be heading home tonight. I will truly miss you. Please accept this rose,” said Rick as he handed the rose to Naomi.

Naomi was in shock. Never did she think that this day would come. She thought that her date had gone well, but apparently, not well enough. And the first to be voted off by an outside consulting firm, it was so embarrassing. She still had such strong feelings for Rick…maybe…maybe if she confessed her love for him, all would be okay. Maybe then she would be able to stay. Or maybe not. Naomi decided that perhaps this was not the best time to reveal that to Rick. She should probably have told him on their Solo Date.

“Thank you, Rick…I will miss you, too,” Naomi murmured in a barely audible voice.

Benny sensed how distraught Naomi was and headed up on stage and escorted Naomi back to her seat trying to cheer her up by doing a mermaid impersonation. Um…Benny, possibly not the best joke to tell right now. Oops!

There were now two contestants left, Iris and Octavia. Who would be heading home?

“Iris and Octavia had a tie-vote from the poll, and earlier today, under the watchful eye of an outside judge, they challenged each other to a game of foosball. The results of that game decided the fate of these contestants.”

Rick walked up to Iris…and held out a yellow rose. “I’m sorry Iris, you lost the foosball tournament to Octavia in a score of 5-1, and will be heading home today. I will always treasure our time together. Please accept this rose,” said Rick.

Iris couldn’t believe this was happening to her. She thought over her actions at the Pirate Group Date, and knew that is where she made her mistake. And now it was too late to turn back time. Oh she wished she could. Truly, she did. She had been given a second chance on her Solo Date, and she took it. And she was nearly safe, except for that darn foosball game. How did Octavia get so good at foosball anyway? She never saw her practicing at the house, but maybe she had. And then it dawned on Iris…of course…it’s Rick’s favorite game, and Octavia would want to be good at it to get closer to Rick. Another fatal error on Iris’ part for underestimating Octavia.

Rick handed Octavia the last red rose, “Octavia, I never knew you were so good at foosball. Maybe we could play together some time. I’m so glad you will be staying,” said Rick.

Octavia almost leapt into Rick’s arms when she knew she was safe. Octavia felt she had done well in that foosball game, and it was just been confirmed. She had won! No-one was getting rid of her that easily. Octavia was here to stay and fight for what she wanted. And that meant staying one step ahead of the other contestants. It also meant keeping a close eye on her biggest threat…Raven.

Roxanna went up to the microphone again. “I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, want to say congratulations to those contestants who are continuing in the Bachelor in Paradise show. We are now down to five contestants, another step closer to finding our Bachelor, Rick, ‘Somebody To Love’. And, seriously, that’s what this is all about, isn’t it? Finding “the one” for Rick. And even though I am saddened to see Iris Costello and Naomi Mahina leave us tonight, I know that the future holds great things for them. I wish them only the very best. With that said, this concludes the Rose Ceremony for this evening.  And whether you are remaining or leaving, it’s time to have some fun and hit the dance floor.”

While Rick, Benny and the contestants headed to the bar area, Roxanna gets a call from the producer. She is wildly ecstatic when she gets off the phone and heads over to the bar area to make an announcement.

“I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, have some exciting news! The producers have decided that some contestants were eliminated too early in the show, and have decided to have a competition amongst them. Yes, you heard it here first! There will be a Comeback Challenge involving all of the eliminated contestants giving one lucky lady a chance to come back on the Bachelor in Paradise Show! Isn’t that just fabulous?” 

Roxanna didn’t quite get the reaction she was hoping for. She thought that perhaps it would cheer the two eliminated contestants up, but all she got were sad faces. Rick seemed happy about the news, though. Maybe there was someone he was thinking about in particular? But the rest of the contestants were just a sad mess. Brianna, Coral, Nami and now even Iris all had the “Drifting Love” sad moodlet. And Roxanna’s news seemed to make them even sadder. They were probably thinking that another contestant would be bringing more competition for them. Oh gosh, not the happy night Roxanna thought it would be.

A round of drinks at the bar didn’t help and were left untouched. No-one seemed to be in a party-mood.

Well, maybe some contestants wanted to party after all. Um…Naomi, what are you doing in the fountain?

The Reader Poll resulted in a tie-vote between Octavia and Iris for the second contestant going home. So before the Rose Ceremony, at the Bachelor House, Octavia and Iris competed in a game of Foosball. (I was going to have them do a chess match, but apparently there is a current bug where the chess game will go on forever).

And the results were:

Octavia won the Foosball game over Iris 5-1. So, Octavia Dillon is safe. Unfortunately, this means that Naomi Mahina and Iris Costello are heading home.

Thanks to this simmer for this gorgeous build. Some additions to the site were done to include a catering kitchen, a bar, a piano, dance floor and stereo, and the Rose Ceremony area. But, otherwise, left as is.
